According to the Forbes magazine, Bill Gates is the richest man in the world and has held the number one position for many years.

The world's greatest philanthropists, he is number ‘ONE’ in everything he does. William Henry Gates was born in 1955, on October 28, in Seattle, Washington.

While at Harvard, Gates co-wrote Altair BASIC, which became Microsoft’s ‘FIRST’ product.
He met his wife, Melinda French, in 1987 at a Microsoft press event in Manhattan while she was a worker for the company. Gates was married on Jan. ‘1’, 1994, to Melinda French Gates.

Gates oversaw Microsoft's company restructuring in the year 1981, which re-incorporated the company in Washington and made Gates President of Microsoft and the Chairman of the Board. Now, 1+9+8+1= 1!

Bill Gates announced his decision to retire from Microsoft in 2008 to focus his attention on the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, aimed at fighting infectious disease and improving high schools. (2+0+0+8=1)
